THE FORMATION OF NATURAL-SCIENCE THINKING SENIOR STUDENTS IN THE CONDITIONS OF INTEGRATION OF PHYSICS AND BIOLOGY
Abstracts

Introduction. The article deals with the formation of theoretical natural-science thinking of students in the integration of physics and bi-ology on the basis of biophysical theories, which determines the relevance of this work. The author presents the main stages of the formation of the integrity of the content of physics and biology and reveals the didactic synthesis of physics and biology through the subject «Biophysics». The pur-

 

pose of the article is to substantiate the effectiveness of the integration of physics and biology in the formation of scientific and theoretical thinking of students.

Materials and methods. The study used the following methods: educational pedagogical experiment, criteria-based testing, and analysis, statistical methods for assessing the reliability of the results, comparison and generalization.

Results. The main directions of integration interaction between physics and biology, providing the use of biophysical theories in the subject "Biophysics» are revealed. Technology of teaching the subject “Biophysics” — is didactic synthesis, which reveals the mechanism of representation of biophysical theories, the formation of theoretical natural science thinking of students. The results of the pedagogical experiment, which tested criterion-based tests to assess the stage, type and level of formation of scientific thinking of the students in the study of Biophysics, are presented. Using criteria-based testing, it is proved that the teaching of the subject “Biophysics” provides the formation of theoretical natural science thinking of students in specialized classes.

Discussion. The practical significance of the research lies in the introduction of the subject «Biophysics» aimed at the formation of theoretical natural science thinking into the educational process of secondary educational institution. The novelty of the research lies in the development of technology of teaching a synthesized subject at school, providing the formation of theoretical knowledge, personality orientation, scientific and theoretical thinking.

Conclusion. The further development of the material presented in the article is seen in the direction of studying the influence of the integration of physics and biology on the processes of development and formation of natural science thinking, the search for ways of integrative interaction of physics and biology in terms of additional education of students, the study of the influence of methods of educational and research activities on the development of natural science thinking.
